FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WILL I RECEIVE A REMINDER MESSAGE?

You sure will. Usually 1 or 2 days prior to your appointment. Simply reply Y (or call to rebook) and you're all set.

WHAT'S INVOLVED WITH A MASSAGE?

Warm sesame oil will be applied to your entire body (except groin and breasts), face, head and hair.
A series of specific and dedicated detoxification moves are performed on the body, this helps the tissues release endotoxins that have built up that can lead to illness and disease.
The massage finishes with a beautifully relaxing face and head massage, so you will have oil in your hair, this is deeply nourishing and leads to longer, stronger hair.
An hour after your appointment, you'll need to shower and gently shampoo your hair to remove the therapeutic oils.
Rest and warmth are required when you get home to take advantage of the detoxification process.

WHAT'S DISCUSSED AT MY CONSULTATION?

Consultations are the perfect way to find out your original and current states of health. You are asked a series of questions and observations are also noted. This allows me to prepare a report for you and begin clearing away any imbalances you may have. Some of the questions are personal in nature and are always treated from a medical perspective and respectfully managed.

DO I HAVE TO DO ANYTHING PRIOR TO MY APPOINTMENT?

If you're having a Consultation, a light snack is advised prior to your appointment, please refrain from eating a big meal or drinking alcohol the day before, as it can disturb the information I need to gather from you.

If you're having an Abhyanga or Udvartana Massage, a shower on the morning of your appointment is much appreciated, paying extra attention to your feet.
If you're having a Kati Basti Treatment on your knees, loose fitting pants (so I can just pull the legs up) are a great idea, so you don't have to get undressed.
If you're having a Facial Treatment, you will be asked to remove your upper clothing and bra (for ladies), this allows me to treat your neck and décolletage. You will be kept covered, warm and cosy by towels and blankets.

HOW IS MY PERSONAL/PRIVATE INFORMATION MANAGED?

IS THERE PARKING ON SITE?

There sure is. The gate is always open on clinic days, please drive in and park in the driveway. Usually only one client is present in the clinic at a time, so its easy in and out.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER MY TREATMENT?

Ayurvedic Treatments are deliberately meant to be thoroughly relaxing. There are no sudden or painful moves, remedial or sports type massages... only the good stuff. Relaxing music is played, candles are lit, gentle touch is applied, warm, scented towels are used so you leave the clinic like you're floating on a cloud.

Warm tridoshic tea or Ayurvedic spiced milk is always served (depending on your dosha) after your treatment as we sit down to discuss the treatment plan for your 'at home' care and any medications prescribed. Your detailed and step by step treatment plan is then emailed to you and follow up appointment made.

I suggest you clear the rest of your day after your appointment, so you can find a warm spot to sit in the sun, rest, recharge, let the treatments do their work... and just BE.
