Make Your Own Skincare!


Its great fun, not to mention cheaper to make your own body care and cosmetics.... And why not! These days the expensive lotions, potions, creams and serums are full of chemicals, additives and nasties. I've been a huge advocate of natural products for a long time. No surprises there! I made a range of organic skin care and body products that do just that. But this week I'd like to share with you all, how easy it is to make your own skin care at home, and there's something for every skin type! Read On!


If you have OILY SKIN:


Cleanse with lotions or creams that contain borage, elder flower honey, majoram, oatmeal, parsley, peppermint or sage.

Deep Clean with masks made with bergamot, brewers yeast, catnip, dandelion, whole eggs, fennel, honey, lavender, lemongrass, lemon juice, dried skim milk, oatmeal, parsley or sage.

Steam with star anise, fennel, lavender, lemongrass, marjoram, plantain, raspberry, red clover or yarrow.

with bay, bergamot, calendula, cider vinegar, fennel, lavender, lemon balm, lemongrass, lemon juice, thyme, distilled witch hazel.


If you have SENSITIVE SKIN:


Cleanse with lotions or creams that have chamomile, elderflower, honey, dried full-cream milk, or oatmeal.

Deep Clean with Nothing. If you have sensitive skin, its probably the last thing you need, it can irritate skin and leave it red and sore.

Tone with aloe vera gel, chamomile, comfrey root, mallow root or rosewater.

Nourish with moisturisers and masks that contain aloe vera, comfrey root or honey.


If you have NORMAL SKIN:



Cleanse with lotions or creams containing chamomile, dandelion, elderflower, honey, dried milk, oatmeal, or sage.

Deep Clean with masks containing aloe vera, star anise, caraway, castor oil, chamomile, egg yolk, elder flower, fennel, honey, lavender, dried milk, oatmeal, parsley, vinegar or greek yoghurt.



Steam with chamomile, comfrey root, fennel or red clover.

Tone with calendula, chamomile, cider vinegar, comfrey root, dandelion, elderflower, lavender, lemon balm, lemongrass, lemon juice, distilled witch hazel.

Nourish with moisturizers and masks made from aloe vera, comfrey root, egg, honey, or greek yoghurt.


If you have DRY SKIN:




Cleanse with lotions and creams that contain chamomile, dandelion, elder

flower, honey, lemon balm, lemongrass, dried full-cream milk or

oatmeal.

Deep Clean with masks containing aloe vera, star anise, castor oil, chamomile, egg yolk, elderflower, fennel, honey, full-cream milk, oatmeal, green yoghurt, or parsley.

Steam (only occasionally) with chamomile, comfrey root, elderflower, mallow root, or red clover.

Tone with borage, chamomile, cider vinegar, elderflower, marjoram or rosewater.

Nourish with moisturizers and masks made with aloe vera, comfrey root, egg yolk, honey or mallow root.


So as you can see, its super simple to put together your own beauty products. In fact, you've probably got most of them at home in your fridge or pantry right now. If you need that extra ingredient, head to your health food store and check out their raw ingredient supply.
